Close to Scarborough, past Kommetjie and next to Witsands, Misty Cliffs is a formidable surfspot when it works properly. Misty Cliffs is a swell magnet and might be worth having a look when other spots are too small. The surf comes at a price however. You have to clamber down an embankment (and back up again). Its a similar wave to Witsands but less reliable and often closes out. |

This surf spot is part of the wild piece of coastline that leads all the way to Cape Point. Consequently there are no loos or other facilities cherished by girls. However, it’s a good option when you want to get away from crowds. Camel Rock in Scarborough is an option as is Kommetjie with its many coffee shops such as the Greenroom (surfy bistro offering excellent smoothies) and Espresso.com. |

Generally empty, but can get crowded on a weekend when good. |
