NW wind is the predominant wind during Cape Towns winters. Most spots in Cape Town can handle a light nw wind. However surf spots in False Bay such as Muizenberg, Strand, Dangers etc. are at its best when the berg wind blows.  Muizenberg is perefctly offshore in a nw and produces long rolling lines perfect for stand up paddleboarding and long boarding. NW wind and swell is the reason why most of us love winter!
