Big wave surf spots in Cape Town – Sunset

Sunset is a well known big wave spot in Cape Town. Nestled between Long Beach and Noordhoek, Sunset is not yet frequented by many girls. Sunset works in a west swell, starting at about 3.5m and nicest in a light south easterly.  Best at low tide as it tends to dump at high tide.
Long Beach offers sufficient parking and a reasonable toilet block. Kommetjie village is a quaint, alternative little place. Check out the Green Room coffee shop on the Main Road to Scarborough, famous for its healthy smoothie and fruit juice range. Next door is a surf shop if you need wax. For sundowners park your car and walk up Slangkop to the white cross thats overlooking the bay. Its stunning up there.
You’ll find big boys with big boards here .
Doesn’t work that often and it’s not really a girlie place although a couple of brave girls have ventured out and been stoked. 2 out of 5.
